ABOUT THE AUTHOR


In the late 2002 Mark had a good fortune of  being  introduced to the graceful and exciting Salsa and Bachata.  His passion for Latin dancing was fired up. Since then he has been on a continuous exploration of various forms of body movement and dancing styles and now has been teaching most styles of partner dancing with the main focus on social Latin dances (Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Cumbia, Bachatango) throughout Phoenix area for over 8 years, acquiring experience in teaching  people of all walks of life, ages, abilities and  skills.  Mark had wonderful opportunities to study with many of the great dancers like Bob Powers and Julia Gorchakova  (former 12-time American Rhythm Champions), Jenell Maranto (former U.S. American Smooth Champion), John Narvaez and Liz Rojas (former Salsa Champions), Abel Pena and Zulmara Torres  (undefeated 3X ESPN World Salsa Champions) and many others.


In his previous scientific career Mark have earned double MS in applied Math and Physics, and subsequently Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. Well, dancing is all about "Chemistry", and understanding of music is based in understanding of Math. So, by exploring his passion for dance, Mark is continuing his previous quest for knowledge taking it to the next level of depth. 

My work have received various honors, including a   Thumbtack Best of 2016,  and  Top Pro in 2017,  2018 and now in 2019 awards.
